Beds are one of my favourite kinds of furnishings to craft. They are so intimate, we spend so much time within them.

They are a place of deep restfullness and stillness and vulnerability, and yet, are built from something so rigid, so hard.

I like to challenge myself to create beds that are strong, but soft to the touch, that offer themselves to the sleeping human body.

They are a special piece - children are conceived in them, dreams are had within them, we make love and we are sick and cuddle kids in them. They become family heirlooms, and so should be timeless and lasting
